HYPERHIDROSIS

Hyperhidrosis is a condition affecting both men & women caused by over-active sweat glands. This excessive sweating can significantly impact the individuals quality of living. The most common treatment area is the underarms however it is possible to treat the palms, soles of the feet or forehead.

The effected areas are treated with Botulinum Toxin (Botox™) injections which temporarily blocks the nerve endings reducing or preventing sweat from being produced.

FAQs

  • Are there any side effects?

    The injection sites can be a little sensitive & small bruises are a common side effects. These symptoms usually reside after a few days.

    Some clients may experience muscle weakness but this does wear off eventually.

    Sometimes clients may experience an increase in sweating in another other parts of the body.

  • How often will I need treatments?

    It is recommended that you have the treatment every 4-6 months.

    Within 4-12 months, new nerve endings have been produced resulting in chemical messages from being received, turning all of the sweat glands on again.

  • Does it hurt?

    A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment areas to minimise discomfort however, as with any injection treatment, mild discomfort is expected during the procedure.

  • What areas can be treated?

    Treatable areas include the underarm, palms of hands & soles of feet.
